Sedat Laciner, academic and author, is a Turkish academic specialist on the Middle East and International Relations, with particular reference to Turkish foreign policy. Dr. Laciner is the director of International Strategic Research Organization. He is a Young Global Leader 2006 (Davos Economic Forum).

Sedat Laciner was born in Kirikkale, Turkey, in 1972. He studied at Ankara University, University of Sheffield and King's College London. He speaks Turkish and English.

Since 2001, he has been teaching International Relations and International Security at Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University and national Police Academy Security Studies Institute, Ankara.

He is editor of Journal of Administrative Studies and Review of International Law and Politics. Dr. Laciner is a regular on TRT and other Turkish TV and radio broadcasts.

He is now Associate Professor of International Relations.

He is the author/co-author or editor of numerous books and articles, including "Iraq Global War and Turkey"; "The Iraq Crisis", "Turks and Armenians", "The World and Turkey", "European Union with Turkey, Turkey's Membership's Impact on the EU", "The Armenian Diaspora", "Britain from a Different Perspective"

The ISRO aims to help individuals and organizations in understanding an ever-changing and increasingly complex world.

The ISRO serves as one of the focal points for research in Turkey by convening seminars, conferences, hosting visiting scholars, publishing books, papers and journals, organizing an extensive program of research programs and projects

 

Through a dynamic program of seminars, conferences, workshops, publications, educational activities and media relations, the ISRO enhances the basis for informed choice by the Turkish public and its leaders.

 

The organization works to stimulate debate and research on international relations and security issues. The main key issues in its researches are security and co-operation. 

 

The Centre welcomes visitor applications from academics at other national or international institutions, advanced doctoral research students, and those with a professional or academic interest in international relations.

The ISRO is not intended to be a forum for single-issue advocacy or lobbying.
